Filter pit, are you going to install it yourself? Or are you going to buy a complete “plug & play” system? Will you opt for convenience or invest time and money to put something together yourself?

Filter pit for ponds and water projects

AUGA asked one of its customers, Harry Esselink garden architecture based in De Heurne, Gelderland, about this choice. With over 40 years of experience, they are among the best in the Netherlands when it comes to designing, constructing, and maintaining exclusive gardens.

As an all-round landscaper, Peter Kuiperij is closely involved in all garden and water projects and has opted for AUGA’s ready-made technical filter pits for the construction of ponds and swimming ponds.

“The fully assembled filter pits not only offer us great ease of installation, but we also know exactly where we stand in advance when calculating a pond project, which prevents unpleasant surprises afterwards that you cannot pass on to the customer. AUGA also helps us make the right technical choices and responds well to individual wishes, which takes the pressure off us in the preparatory phase and actually saves us money.

Another positive point is the finish of the pits, which looks very neat, with attention to detail. In the unlikely event of a problem, we can call on AUGA’s service*.

Filter pit, which products are used?

Various filter pits have been put together for ponds with a capacity of up to 200 m³. The most commonly used and built-in technical products are a combination of a pond pump from the energy-efficient, adjustable VarioFlow® series or the Aquaflow® series. In addition, a pressure filter from the VarioPress® Pro line and a UV-C device from the VarioClean® PRO line.

For very large ponds and swimming ponds, these products are supplemented with an sieve filter or a drum sieve in combination with a highly professional UV-C device from the PRO-X line. Supply and drain pipes, as well as all couplings, taps, pipes, and wall sockets, are always pre-assembled. The filter pit is delivered “plug & play,” so that only connections for supply and drain pipes need to be made.

Which filter pit is needed?

A complete overview shows which technical pit, in which configuration, is most suitable for the contents of the pond or swimming pond.

*AUGA’s “All-In” warranty has no fine print; because all components in our technical pits come from our own company, AUGA provides a 3-year warranty on the system. If a system error occurs, we will resolve it ourselves on site. Logical exceptions to the long warranty period are parts that are subject to natural wear and tear, such as UV-C lamps and, for example, the filter cloth of a drum filter.
