Does your pond look green before your eyes?
If that is the case, it is now time for action!
Green water indicates floating algae, characteristic of warming and standing water in a pond. In the spring this is a “problem in development ”, if the weather gets really warmer you have a high chance of a “floating algae explosion ” and your pond water becomes green soup, of course you don’t want that.
Floating algae are not really harmful in themselves, but the consequences of a floating algae explosion may be.

Aeration and movement is an effective solution
There are many options for fighting floating algae. A very effective and natural way is the aeration and movement of pond water. By introducing flow into the water, the warm top layer of the pond water is mixed with the colder underlay. That warm top layer is the ideal breeding ground for floating algae to multiply exposively and you want to get rid of that.
Aeration and movement of pond water is always an advantage during summer days, because warm water contains less oxygen. High fish stock and the presence of organic waste (leaves and sludge) also contribute to this.
A somewhat lesser known cause are organic fertilizers that are present in garden soil, such as phosphate and nitrate. With a rain shower, these can end up in the pond, which are extra nutrients for algae.

Installation in an instant
The Lotus 20 F is very easy to place in a pond; with the supplied ground pins and anchoring wire you bring the pump into the desired position. Take into account the size of the fountain image in relation to the size of the pond.
With a depth of only 25 cm, the Lotus 20 F also works fine and very effective in shallow ponds, because shallow pond water heats up much faster and you have to prevent that. A water depth of at least 50 cm is desirable for optimal functioning of the pump.
